Jeff Fox is Chairman of Convergys Corporation, a market leading customer management company with $3.0 billion in revenue, $350 million in EBITDA and 125,000 global employees. Jeff served as President and CEO of Convergys from February 2010 until October 2012. As CEO, Jeff led Convergys’ strategic and operational transformation from a multi-line business services supplier into a market leader in the customer management business. This transformation involved divesting approximately $900 million of non-core assets in three major transactions while improving the operating performance of the customer management business.
Prior to joining Convergys, Jeff assembled a team of seasoned operators and founded Circumference Group in January 2009. As CEO and founder, he led the team through a successful first year of investing in private and public companies and advising clients and partners. In February 2010, Jeff accepted the position of President and CEO at Convergys, after joining the Board in February 2009. He continues to be the majority shareholder in Circumference Group.
Before founding Circumference Group, Jeff served as Chief Operating Officer of Alltel Corporation from October 2007 to January 2009. In his role as COO, Jeff directed operations of the fifth largest wireless company in the United States with over $10 billion in revenue, $3.5 billion in EBITDA and 16,000 employees. He was responsible for all retail, business and indirect sales, marketing, customer service, IT, engineering, network planning and operations, supply chain, procurement and operations support. Jeff participated in the management team that led Alltel’s $27 billion acquisition by TPG Capital and Goldman Sachs in 2007.
From April 2003 to October 2007, Jeff served as Alltel’s Group President-Shared Services. As Group President-Shared Services, Jeff was responsible for the enterprise infrastructure supporting Alltel’s wireline and wireless operations, including network engineering and operations, IT, procurement, human resources, enterprise integration and the enterprise project management organization.
From 1996 to April 2003, Jeff served as Group President-Alltel Information Services with responsibility for all subsidiary functions, including sales, marketing, research and development, legal, finance, strategy and operations. AIS delivered software, professional services and outsourcing to top tier global financial institutions and U.S. telecommunications companies. During his tenure, Jeff successfully led the restructuring of AIS, positioning it for acquisition by Fidelity National Financial for $1.3 billion.
Prior to Alltel, Jeff worked in investment banking for 10 years with Stephens Inc. preceded by two years with Merrill Lynch. Jeff specialized in M&A advisory services for public and private companies.
Jeff is a graduate of Duke University with a degree in economics.
