Jim McDonald was previously Vice President Network Services for Alltel Corporation. Before its acquisition by Verizon Wireless in January 2009, Alltel operated the nation’s largest wireless network and was fifth largest wireless company in the U.S.
As VP Network Services, Jim was responsible for the integration of emerging technologies, products, features and services into the Alltel networks, managing and reporting capital and network operating budgets, network property management, FAA/FCC regulatory compliance, network performance reporting, design and support of multiple engineering support tools, Alltel’s infrastructure and mobile device test labs.
Jim joined Alltel via acquisition of 360° Communications in 1998 and served as the lead for integration of 360° engineering resources into the Alltel organization.
In total, Jim worked at Alltel or its predecessor companies in engineering and operations for 22 years. Previous roles have included VP Network Support, VP Network Evolution, Director Network Operations, RF Manager and Network Manager.
